We spent a nice weekend at Blood Indian with Mark, Kallie, and the boys we took the canoe and everyone had a turn. Jake caught a fish and was very proud to have his picture taken with his trophy.

Tuesday of last week Ken and Bev Wardlow of Kennewick Washington USA were visitors to Wardlow Alberta. They found our Wardlow on the map and jumped on their Harleys and came to see our Hamlet. Luckily they found our resident biker Bryan Barton and his lovely wife Eileen at home and had a nice visit with them.

John and I went to the Cowboy Poetry gathering in Stony Plain this past weekend. The performers at this gathering were beyond great it was also great to see so many young people perform at this type of venue. My only complaint was that they seemed to think that everyone knew where everything was and didnot provide directions to anything. In the program they advertise upcoming events but don’t say where they are either, very strange. Other than that we had fun we also stayed over with Melissa at Morrinville so got in a visit with her too.

The Berry Creek Ag Society is having a Branding Appreciation Evening on July 23 at the Hard Grass Hub in Pollockville. Doors open at 8 PM with the show By VANNATTA to start at 9 PM. Tickets for the event are $15.00 per person. Everyone welcome.
We are having a very busy summer so far with not enough time to get things done and lots of unexpected happenings to deal with but summer is as usual rushing by. Hope to see more of the kids and grand kids this summer and we have lots of volunteer commitments again so lots of fun ahead.

Last weekend we attended a wedding in Kinuso near Slave Lake and were, for a day stranded as the rain had many of the roads closed due to flooding. There were only 60 guests invioted but only 30 were able to make it. We had a damp but good time and the new couple seems to be a good match. They say rain on your wedding day is good luck so this couple should really have some great luck in store for them.

Sunday June 19th at 2 pm there will be a baby shower for Brock Griffith infant son of Dawn and Justin at the Hardgrass Hub in Pollockville. Everyone is welcome.
John and I have had a very exciting month , on May 21st we traveled, along with our friend Helen Schottenbauer to Paris then on to England Whales and Scotland returning home on June 6th to Calgary I the went on to Camrose where I joined Lila, Edie, Jan, Monique, and Chrystal for our WI conference. I must say that I am glad I kept a diary of all of this because it is a blur in my mind. The whole month had been fun. Last friday we attended a dinner theater in Calgary with some of the staff from BCCS and that too was fun. The kids, Mark, Kallie, Jake and Eli came for the Brooks parade the spent the night and helped us to catch up on some of the yard work then Sunday evening Grace called and invited us to a weinner roast at the creek. Summer seemed to take a long time coming but has really hit with full forse now.

I had an amazing Mothers day but then thats because I have an amazing family. Kallie and I treated ourselves to a pedicure and Gardage sale Saturday, the Sunday John and I traveled to the Hat for Kallies Birthday and Mothers day. Mark BBQed steak and salmon so we ate like royalty. I had lovely messages from Melissa and familt too. Great weekend.
The next open dance at Brooks Legion Hall is on May 14th. The band will be ”Memory Makers” from Medicine Hat. They will play from 7:30 – 11:30 at which time there will be a pot luck lunch. Don’t forget the Annual Home and Garden Spring Plant sale at the Cessford Hall from 1-4 May 20th Tea and goodies available for a nominal cost. These plants are a great value and already used to our tricky weather as they are grown locally.
